Stellantis has cancelled production at Windsor Assembly Plant for the week of Nov. 9, 2026, the fourth week in a row without scheduled vehicle production after the weeks of Oct. 19, Oct. 26 and Nov. 2.
Production workers are told not to report to work unless a supervisor contacts them. Skilled trades workers are expected to report for their regular shifts.
"Stellantis continues to evaluate and adjust its manufacturing operations in response to evolving market conditions, including consumer demand and the impact of tariffs," the company said in a statement.
The layoff affects thousands of unionized production workers at the minivan and muscle-car plant.
The plant notice covers only the week of Nov. 9. It does not say when production will restart.
What it means for you
If you work production at Windsor Assembly, stay home this week unless your supervisor calls you in. Skilled trades work as scheduled. Keep each layoff notice and pay stub, and take questions about pay and benefits to your union representative. Windsor News will report the plant's next scheduling notice.
