Windsor News publishes daily story cards, a weekly email digest, the Sports Desk, Weather, Witching Hour, Local Inspirations and The Windsor Double on windsornewsdesk.ca and our social channels. Our audience includes X 935+ and Facebook 1,700+ followers.
Founding rates
Founding rates are for our first sponsors. They rise as our audience grows, and you keep yours for as long as you renew without a gap (up to 12 months). Lock yours in.

All prices in Canadian dollars. Pay 3 months up front and save 10% on any monthly package (Founding Partner already has its 3-month term built in). Registered non-profits and charities save 25%.
October only: Witching Hour presented by you
Put your name on Witching Hour, our nightly local history and folklore feature, for the rest of October for a flat $50. A good fit for costume shops, haunted attractions, bakeries and pumpkin patches.
What every sponsor gets
- Free help writing your ad copy.
- A preview of your ad before it runs.
- A short monthly report with real numbers only: what ran, when, and the views, opens and clicks each platform reports.
- A one-page written agreement.
Editorial independence
Sponsors buy space next to our news, never a say in it. No advertiser can request, preview, edit, delay or remove a story, and sponsorship has no effect on what we cover or how we cover it.
If an advertiser is ever part of a news story, we cover it the same way we would cover anyone else and add a line saying the business is a Windsor News advertiser. Read our ethics and standards.
Every ad is labelled
Paid content is always clearly marked, at the top or on the image itself, with the same words every time:
- Sponsored on sponsor cards, digest boxes and event listings.
- Presented by [Business] on sponsored series.
- Advertisement above every banner on our website.
- Any sponsored content written by or for an advertiser is marked Sponsored content, paid for by the business, and is not written by the Windsor News newsroom.
On social media we also use each platform's own paid partnership or branded content label.
What we never sponsor
- No political ads. We do not accept ads from candidates, campaigns, parties or third-party advertisers, or ads about candidates, issues or how to vote. This is a standing policy, not just at election time.
- No ads, logos or Presented by lines on our FOI and accountability work, election coverage, crime, tragedies or breaking news.
- Sponsors of Local Inspirations never choose, pay for or review who gets profiled.
We can decline or remove any ad.
