When we get something wrong, we fix it and say so. This log lists every correction to a Windsor News story, card or tracker, newest first.

• Oct. 17, 2026: Witching Hour - Legends: The widow's curse on Peche Island
  What was wrong: The story and its card said Hiram Walker sold Peche Island in 1907.
  What changed: Walker died in January 1899; his daughter, Elizabeth Walker Buhl, sold the island in 1907. The story and card were corrected, a dated note was added to the story, and a correction was posted on X.
• Oct. 12, 2026: Estate theft and financial abuse of older adults happens in Windsor-Essex too
  What was wrong: The story card had a grammar error.
  What changed: The card was fixed. No facts changed.
• Oct. 11, 2026: Four Essex County minor hockey teams picked for RONA Rookies
  What was wrong: An earlier version said two Essex County teams (Belle River and Tecumseh) were selected.
  What changed: RONA's list shows four, including two Lake Erie North Stars teams from Kingsville. The headline, story and card were corrected and a correction note was added to the story.
• Oct. 6, 2026: FOI tracker: request 36-2026 (IPC appeal MA26-00646)
  What was wrong: The tracker row described a Sept. 29, 2026 appeal notice as when the appeal began.
  What changed: The row now says the Information and Privacy Commissioner confirmed the appeal on July 14, 2026, and the file moved to mediation in late September 2026. The Sept. 29 wording was removed.
