Michael Newlove stopped all 30 shots and the Windsor Spitfires beat the Brampton Steelheads 3-0 on Sunday afternoon at the CAA Centre. It was his third straight shutout, after blanking Erie 3-0 on Oct. 29 and Owen Sound 8-0 on Oct. 31.
The OHL says Newlove is the first goalie in the league with three straight shutouts since Windsor's Michael DiPietro did it in December 2016. It was the fifth shutout of his OHL career.
Anthony Cristoforo scored in the first and second periods and set up Ethan Garden's empty-net goal in the third. Caden Harvey and Bogdan Yakushevsky each had two assists. Shots were even at 30 apiece. The league says Windsor has won four straight and is 8-5-2-1.
