Windsor's Development and Heritage Standing Committee meets today, Monday, Nov. 2, at 4:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall. Three items on its agenda could change your neighbourhood.
75 homes at Richmond and St. Luke (Ward 5). A numbered company, 14493559 Canada Inc., wants to build 24 semi-detached homes and 51 townhomes at the southwest corner of Richmond Street and St. Luke Road. The land is set aside for business park and industrial use, so the plan needs an Official Plan change, a rezoning and a plan of subdivision. City staff recommend approval (report S 108/2026). We covered the details on Oct. 30.
Alley east of Oak Street (Ward 9). Staff recommend closing the 4.27-metre east-west alley east of Oak Street, south of Wyandotte Street West and west of Crawford Avenue, and selling it to the owners next to it, with easements kept for utility lines (report S 103/2026). The report says the alley is unmaintained grass and gravel.
Alley north of Grand Marais Road West (Ward 10). Staff recommend the same for the 4.27-metre alley between Everts and Curry avenues, keeping easements for ENWIN hydro poles and MNSi lines (report S 109/2026).
