More of Jackson Park is behind fencing starting Tuesday, Oct. 27, as City crews move into the next phases of set-up for Bright Lights Windsor.
What's changing
The City of Windsor says these changes start Oct. 27:
More fencing along the west side of the park, running from the Ouellette Avenue and Tecumseh Road intersection to the Ouellette overpass.
The Queen Elizabeth II Sunken Gardens, along with the pergola and the public washrooms, will be fenced in.
The park gates at the intersection of Ouellette Avenue and Tecumseh Road will be closed.
The west side of the pathway that runs by the Royal Canadian Air Force Memorial will be blocked off.
The City calls this the second and third phases of park adjustments. They add to the first phase, which began Oct. 13, when crews fenced off the north end of the park along Tecumseh Road East and closed the service road north of the Sunken Gardens.
Remembrance Day
The City says people going to the park for Remembrance Day activities should use Memorial Drive off McDougall Street.
What's next
The City's Bright Lights Windsor page lists a fourth phase of closures after Remembrance Day, with a tentative date of Nov. 12. Bright Lights Windsor opens Friday, Nov. 27.
Questions about park access can go to 311.
