Two pedestrians killed on County Road 34 West in Kingsville

Two men were killed after being struck by a Jeep while walking on County Road 34 West in Kingsville late Thursday night, Essex County OPP say.
What police say happened
At about 10:40 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2026, Essex County OPP, the Kingsville Fire Department and Essex-Windsor EMS were called to a single-vehicle collision on County Road 34 West between Olinda Side Road and County Road 18 in the Town of Kingsville.
When they arrived, emergency crews found two pedestrians who had been struck by a Jeep.
Despite efforts to revive them, the two men, one 25 and one 27, were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The driver of the Jeep stayed at the scene and was not hurt.
The investigation
OPP's Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team is helping with the investigation, which is continuing.
Police have not released the names of the men who died. OPP has not said what led to the collision or whether any charges are being considered.
The OPP release gives the date as Thursday, Oct. 30. Thursday was Oct. 29, and OPP's first road closure post went out at 10:52 p.m. that night.
Road closure
At 7:33 a.m. Friday, OPP said County Road 34 was still closed between County Road 18 and Olinda Side Road. Drivers should use other routes.
