If you'd like to keep biking once the snow comes, Windsor Bike Kitchen is taking applications for its Winter Wheels program.

What it is

Winter Wheels helps people who want to ride through the cold months get the gear and know-how to do it.

What you get

The Bike Kitchen's sign-up page lists six months of Bike Kitchen membership, 50% off winter bike tires, guided bike rides around Windsor-Essex, and workshops on getting ready for winter riding and keeping a bike working through the season.

The deal

Participants commit to getting out on their bike at least once a week through the winter and sharing their experience to encourage others to ride.

Deadline

AM800 News reports applications are open until Nov. 15, with successful applicants told the next day.

What it means for you

If winter tires or bike upkeep are what keep you off your bike from December to March, this is a cheaper way in. Details and the sign-up form are on the Bike Kitchen's website.
