Windsor Police Service released its crime data for September 2026 on Oct. 14, comparing the month with September 2025. The service posted the figures as two graphics on its X account.

Crimes against people down

Police reported 256 crimes against people in September, down 8.6% from the same month last year. The service said the drop was driven by fewer reported robberies, sexual violations, and mischief and harassment incidents. The police graphic describes this category as violent incidents.

Property crime about flat

Property crimes totalled 1,021, up 0.8%. Police described that as relatively consistent, with slight increases in thefts, frauds and break-and-enters.

Other Criminal Code violations down 23%

Other Criminal Code violations fell 23% to 154. That category includes child sexual abuse and exploitation material, administration of justice violations, non-violent weapons offences, and gaming and betting offences.

Keep in mind

These figures are reported incidents for a single month compared with the same month a year earlier. One month does not show a trend, and the police release did not include year-to-date totals or neighbourhood breakdowns. It also did not say whether the September numbers could be revised as cases are reviewed.
