The City of Windsor logged 1,471 pothole reports through 311 between Jan. 1 and Aug. 23, 2026, according to City of Windsor 311 data on the City's open data portal.
The numbers
March was by far the busiest month, with 445 pothole reports. April had 317, and February and May had 189 each. Reports dropped through the summer, to 72 in July.
Ward 2 had the most reports, 232. Ward 9 was next with 180, then Ward 5 with 167 and Ward 4 with 160. Ward 7 had the fewest, 86.
By street, Riverside had the most reports (47), followed by Tecumseh (44), Lauzon (32), Huron Church (31) and Central (27). The City's data lists each street by name only, so a count can cover more than one section of the same road.
Keep in mind
These are reports, not confirmed potholes. One pothole can be reported several times, and the data does not show how quickly each one was fixed. The newest 311 data the City has posted runs to Aug. 23.
What it means for you
In February, the City warned that this winter's prolonged cold was hard on roads. "Potholes form quickly and often all at once," said Stacey McGuire, the City's executive director of operations. The City said crews put high-traffic areas and more dangerous intersections first.
