Every Windsor ballot has a school board trustee race, and for English public school supporters it is the most crowded one. Counts below come from the City Clerk's Who is Running trustee pages and certified candidate list, checked Oct. 9.
Greater Essex County District School Board (English public)
Windsor is split into three zones, and each zone elects two trustees. Voters in a zone can mark up to two choices.
Wards 1, 2 and 9: 6 candidates for 2 seats
Wards 3, 4 and 10: 6 candidates for 2 seats
Wards 5, 6, 7 and 8: 6 candidates for 2 seats
That is 18 candidates for 6 seats.
The other boards
Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board: five zones electing one trustee each. The Wards 1 and 10 seat was acclaimed. The other four are contested, with 9 candidates between them (two each in Wards 2 and 9, Wards 3 and 4, and Wards 6 and 7; three in Wards 5 and 8).
Conseil scolaire catholique Providence: the Wards 6 to 9 seat has 3 candidates. The two other seats covering Windsor were acclaimed.
Conseil scolaire Viamonde: acclaimed.
Which race is on your ballot
The City says you receive your ballot according to the school support shown on the voters' list. The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation keeps that designation, and if none was chosen, it defaults to English public. The City says changes had to be made by June 1, 2026 to show on this year's list.
Names and contact details for every trustee candidate are on the City's Who is Running pages. Windsor News reports counts only and does not rank or endorse candidates.
