Bright Lights Windsor 2026 opens at Jackson Park on Friday, Nov. 27, the City of Windsor says, and crews start getting the park ready today.

Starting Tuesday, Oct. 13, City crews are fencing off the north end of the park along Tecumseh Road East. They are also closing the service road north of the Queen Elizabeth II Sunken Gardens. All other paths and areas of the park stay open during this first phase, the City said.

As in past years, installation and closures will happen in phases so that as much of the park as possible stays open. The City lists this schedule:

Phase 1: Oct. 13 (confirmed)

Phase 2: Oct. 22 (tentative)

Phase 3: Oct. 29 (confirmed)

Phase 4: Nov. 12 (tentative, after Remembrance Day)

The City says the tentative dates may change. The full dates for the 2026-27 season haven't been announced yet.

The City says more than 105,000 people went to Bright Lights Windsor in 2025. Applications are open for local vendors, entertainers and charitable groups who want to take part this year.
