The groups behind the event include the Black Farmers Network, Coalition for Justice Unity Equity, Black Kids In Action, the Nigerian Canadian Organization of Windsor, the Yoruba Heritage Community Organization of Windsor Essex and the Igbo Community Windsor, among others, CTV News Windsor reported on Oct. 5.
Co-organizer Vincent Adejoh told CTV the format is a meet and greet, so residents can put faces to the candidates, ask questions and get answers. He said the idea came from conversations with residents who either were not aware of the election or felt disconnected from the process.
Organizers are covering the costs themselves, according to CTV. Admission is free, and the event is open to the entire community, not only members of the participating organizations.

The Caboto Club is at 2175 Parent Ave., according to the club's website.
What is not public
