CBC Windsor's live mayoral debate is today, Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 4 p.m., with Drew Dilkens, Fred Francis and Kat Pasquach. The 45-minute debate streams on the CBC Windsor website, YouTube channel and FAST channel. Eleven candidates are running for mayor in the Oct. 26 municipal election.
What we asked
On Monday evening, Oct. 5, Windsor News emailed the Dilkens, Francis and Pasquach campaigns two questions: what they think of the other eight mayoral candidates not being invited, and whether all 11 should have been included. Replies were requested by noon today. CBC Windsor and the other eight candidates were copied on the email.
As of 12:25 p.m., none of the three campaigns had responded.
Windsor News also asked CBC Windsor on Sunday, Oct. 4, how the three participants were chosen and whether other candidates were invited, and sent a follow-up that night. CBC had not responded as of 12:25 p.m. today. CBC's Oct. 2 announcement names the three participants but does not say how they were chosen.
What the other candidates said
In Part 1 of this story, published this morning, six of the other eight candidates told Windsor News whether CBC invited them. None said they were invited. Benjamin Danyluk, Dylon Graves, Tara Grayer's campaign, Tristan Ty Morencie and Patrick Sutherland said they were not invited or contacted. Louis Vaupotic said, "I think it was a no."
This story will be updated if CBC Windsor or any of the campaigns respond.
