Lancer women take silver at the U of T Invitational, four strokes back of Guelph

Lancers golf
The University of Windsor women's golf team finished second at the University of Toronto Invitational at Islington Golf and Country Club on Monday, Oct. 5. The Lancers posted a team score of 262, four strokes behind first-place Guelph. Kennedy Fremlin and Ella Harris each shot 87 to finish fourth and fifth overall. Lauren Purves shot 88 and Lauren Bondi shot 106. The school published the results on Wednesday morning.
On the men's side, Tyler Hurtubise shot 74 to finish third overall. Nicholas Tunovich shot 80 and Jack Jenkins shot 84. Windsor tied Brock for fifth in the team standings, and McMaster won the men's team title.
The golf teams play next at the OUA championships in Ottawa from Oct. 16 to 18.
Saints baseball
St. Clair College's baseball team hosts Fanshawe in a conference doubleheader on Wednesday, Oct. 7, with games at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The Saints are 9-4 and have won six straight, including a 15-0 win at Sheridan on Sunday, Oct. 4. Kohan Merritt hit a home run and drove in five runs in that game.

No Windsor Spitfires, Lancers or Saints games were played on Tuesday, Oct. 6. The Lancers women's basketball team plays StFX in an exhibition game in Toronto on Thursday at 4 p.m. Lancers soccer hosts Algoma at Alumni Stadium on Friday, with the women at 6 p.m. and the men at 8:15 p.m. The Spitfires host Oshawa at the WFCU Centre on Saturday at 7:05 p.m.
