National Day for Truth and Reconciliation: what's closed and open in Windsor on Sept. 30

City offices, 311 and library branches closed. Garbage pickup not delayed, buses on a regular weekday schedule.

The City of Windsor says its administrative offices, 311 and all Windsor Public Library branches are closed Wednesday, Sept. 30. For municipal emergencies, call 519-255-6326. 311 Online and the Windsor 311 app remain available 24/7.

Residential waste collection is not delayed. Transit Windsor runs its regular weekday schedule.

Admission is free at the Chimczuk Museum and François Baby House (regular hours) and at Art Windsor-Essex (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.).

The community-led Orange Shirt Day Committee hosts an Honour Walk and Community Gathering at Jackson Park, 125 Tecumseh Rd. E., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with speakers, a fire, drums and food. All are welcome.

The Every Child Matters flag flies at City Hall Sept. 29 to Oct. 1, and City Hall is lit orange in the evenings.
